Besparmak Mountains Viewpoint
The reward for your hike is the Besparmak Lookout, the closest you will get to the clouds. Here you can see the panoramic view of Nicosia, Kyrenia and Karpaz. All the secrets that made Aphrodite’s island fall in love with her are revealed in this view.
The most important stops of the Beşparmak Mountain hike are Bellapais Monastery and Buffavento Castle, which were important buildings in Cyprus in the Middle Ages. You can reach these historical ruins by walking along narrow paths and enjoy the unique view of the Mediterranean Sea from the top of the stone walls located in the mountainous and sheltered parts of the island. These historical buildings add a cultural richness to your walk and offer you the opportunity to take a journey into the past.

How to get to the Besparmak Mountains?
If you want to go here to hike the Beşparmak Mountain, we recommend that you contact a tour agency. However, if you want to reach the heights of the mountain on your own, you should go to Kyrenia via the Nicosia – Kyrenia highway. After reaching Kyrenia, you can proceed to Beşparmak Street via Uğur Mumcu Boulevard in the east direction. Many of the side roads on the avenue will take you to the heights of the mountain. Of course, following the signs will help you a lot.
If you get lost, you can ask any Cypriot you see on the road for directions and experience the wonderful Cypriot hospitality first hand. Remember, this walk is not only an activity to get your heart rate up, but also an unmissable opportunity to discover the natural and cultural richness of Cyprus. When you visit Northern Cyprus, don’t let the steep and rugged paths of history intimidate you and make sure you experience this hike.
