Who is King George VI?

King George VI was born on December 14, 1895 in Sandringham, England and died on February 6, 1952 in the same place. George VI, whose real name was Albert Frederick Arthur George, reigned as King of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth from 1936 to 1952. He was the second son of his father, King George V, and became king after his older brother Edward VIII abdicated. George VI led his country during World War II and made great efforts to keep public morale high. He had two daughters, Queen Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret. During his reign, he played an important role in shaping the Commonwealth.
