History of Hasan Kavizade Hüseyin Efendi Fountain
Hasan Kavizade Hüseyin Efendi was a philanthropist who lived in the 1800s. Although the Kavizades were among the leading families of Sinop at that time, it is not known whether Hüseyin Efendi belonged to this family. What we know about him is limited to the inscriptions on the fountain. It is written on the fountain that it was built by Hasan Kavizade Hüseyin Efendi in 1257 AH, 1841 AD. This charity fountain, which was presented about 300 years after the construction of the Aga Cafer Pasha Mosque in 1580, was used for ablution for many years. The 200-year-old fountain has a marble inscription under one of its three arches. Under the other two arches are fountains. Stone carved symbols can be seen on the middle arch.

There are no visiting hours for the fountain. There is no entrance fee. Located on the street near the Aga Cafer Pasha Mosque, the fountain is open to the public and tourists at all hours. However, daylight hours are the best time to photograph the fountain.
