Journey to the Past
History of Panayia Pergaminiotissa Church
The church is known to have a history of almost 900 years. It is a very modest building with a square geometric shape and a dome decorated with a cross. There is also the possibility that it was a monastery of monks in earlier centuries.
It has undergone an important restoration work in recent years. With the joint efforts of the TRNC Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Republic of Turkey and Tatlısu Municipality, the church was brought back to life. Today the church has two separate museums, a cafe where you can relax and an area surrounded by lavender gardens. There are also parking areas where you can park your vehicles.
