Soli Ancient City

The foundation of Soli dates back to the 6th century BC. According to legend, it was named after the famous Athenian legislator Solon. During the Roman and Byzantine periods, the city became an important port and trade center and lived its golden age. During the Christian era, Soli became a bishopric center and played an important role in the religious and cultural life of the region. In the 7th century, as a result of Arab raids and natural disasters, Soli turned into ruins and was forgotten over time.

Soli Basilica

The ancient city of Soli is remembered for its ruins, each with a different story. One of the most remarkable structures of the city is the Basilica of Soli. Dazzling with its columns, mosaics and baptistery, this building is one of the most beautiful examples of Byzantine architecture.

Agora

Located in the center of the city, the Agora was the center of the vibrant social life of antiquity. Here are the ruins of the place where market vendors once set up their stalls, where people gathered and chatted and where trade was intense.
